Sekilas tentang GPRS
GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) adalah suatu teknologi yang memungkinkan pengiriman dan penerimaan data lebih cepat jika dibandingkan dengan penggunaan teknologi Circuit Switch Data atau CSD. Sering disebut pula dengan teknologi 2,5G.
Sistem GPRS dapat digunakan untuk transfer data (dalam bentuk paket data) yang berkaitan dengan e-mail, data gambar (MMS), dan penelusuran (browsing) internet.
Dalam teorinya GPRS menjanjikan kecepatan mulai dari 56 kbps sampai 115 kbps, sehingga memungkinkan akses internet, pengiriman data multimedia ke komputer, notebook dan handheld computer. Namun, dalam implementasinya, hal tersebut sangat tergantung faktor-faktor sebagai berikut:
* Konfigurasi dan alokasi time slot pada level BTS.
* Software yang dipergunakan.
* Dukungan fitur dan aplikasi ponsel yang digunakan.
Ini menjelaskan mengapa pada saat-saat tertentu dan di lokasi tertentu akses GPRS terasa lambat, bahkan lebih lambat dari akses CSD yang memiliki kecepatan 9,6 kbps.

Jika pada umumnya, disk biasa memiliki tiga dimensi ruang, namun dengan nanorod emas, para peneliti ini mampu menambah dua dimensi, satu berbasis spektrum warna, satunya lagi berbasis polarisasi.
"Kami sanggup menunjukkan bagaimana struktur materi nano dapat dimasukkan ke dalam sebuah disk untuk meningkatkan kapasitas penyimpanan, tanpa memperbesar ukuran fisik disk tersebut," klaim Min Gu, ketua tim penelitian, dikutip dari AFP, Senin (25/5/2009).

Adapun, fitur utama dari i-Guard powered by SmrtGuard, antara lain:
1. Over-the-Air Backup
Kemampuan untuk melakukan backup data pribadi pada BlackBerry dan dapat dijadwalkan secara otomatis dan berkala. Semua data yang telah di-backup/disimpan dapat diakses melalui portal web SmrtGuard.
2. Over-the-Air Restore
Kemampuan untuk mengembalikan data-data pribadi secara nirkabel ke smartphone BlackBerry. Kemudahan proses perpindahan data pribadi ke handset BlackBerry yang baru atau jika pelanggan ingin melakukan penggantian handset.
3. Remote Track and wipe

6. Personal Guardian
